Large Format Photography

I used to enjoy large format photography back in the late 1990s

Everyone was telling me to use wide-angle lenses and take a wide shot of the scenery.

I always enjoyed using a longer lens and taking photos of the outdoors with a 300 mm lens on my 4”x 5” large format camera.

In the end because of costs, I end up going back to using 35mm Leica M film camera and gears was it was cheaper at that point in time.

Now Leica M film gear is much more expensive and large format has come down a lot in the price for camera, lenses etc.

Freedom to adjust camera settings perspective

So part of the reason I’m building up Project Troopy is as a camping base for not only exploring New Zealand but also to carry my Large Format camera equipment, to take pictures of random, historic, forgotten about, places about New Zealand.

More information to come in the coming months.
