Project Troopy Update – January – Part 1

Well, after 12 months of working on my 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser 78 Troop Carrier she is finally getting close with only the wiring and water system to be installed.

There is of course a lot of finishing off around the edges some more varnishing ceiling edges of the plywood and other fishing touches and small projects to complete but I have my fingers crossed that I’ll be able to go camping within the next month or two.

Yes, I’m building a cabinet like the other option!
Just in case you’re a little confused, what things are.
Working on my sink design and layout
Fridge mounting with holes drill to bolt the fridge down, and of course the air compressor.
Sink bench design with clearance for around the fridge once installed
Bed open to show my drawer free storage

Yes I’m planning to use soft bags to store all my things and to keep weight low into have more room.

Bed now closed, you can see space in the wall cavity that I’m gonna be storing emergency gear

Because the wall cavities are so big and there was plenty of storage room instead of cutting it off like most people with their trip carrier builds, I’m utilising one cavity to carry extra emergency food rations and another cavity to keep extra warm clothing etc. In just in case the weather changes well out exploring New Zealand..

More to come in the next few weeks 👍
