The Leaning Post of Taupo

Well, I’ve been to the Leaning Tower of Pisa so many times I have no idea to be exact but between 10 and 20+ times carrying passengers.

But now Taupo has its very own leaning feature a Power Pole, that despite being worked on a number of times keeps returning to a leaning post.

More importantly, I have owned a Canon R5 camera for over three years and despite doing a lot of research and trying to find high light exposure setting or an adjustment for the exposure!

I gave up and put it in the cupboard for the last 18 months to two years because I was sick of all my photos being over exposed.

Returning to the much simpler Fuji X100T, just part of my life with a brain injury.

I had been planning to trade it in on a different brand of camera which has a highlights exposure setting in the menu and a simpler easier for me to understand menu system.

Then last week, I came across a video talking about getting the most from Canon’s R5 camera gear and one of the settings was to let it expose for the highlights plus a number of other adjustments and talking about the sub menus and the difference that Canon use their own sensor compared to most other brands using Sony sensor’s.

Now I have been out over the weekend, taking a number of photos with the camera and not trusting this new adjustments and actually not exposing the photos enough in most cases so today I decided to trust the camera settings and let it do its work and this photo of the leaning post of Taupo is just one of these photos that I’ve taken.

I’m so happy with the new settings and how the photos are coming out and I’m now staying with my Canon R5 just trying to work out which way to carry it as I’ve given up with most camera bags are not designed for comfort when going hiking so I’m now looking at a hiking bag and using one of my ones that I’ve not really liked and customizing it to fit my camera gear.

Persistence sometimes works out in the end.
