As a former Motorcycle Engineer and Mechanic it was very surprising, how many customers motorcycles needed to have the Italian tune.
In fact, once I had a visit from the local police officer about a motorcycle going along the bypass putting out so much smoke that no one could see where they were going?
Bobby the local police officer knew me very well and it often come in to get his own motorcycle serviced and just talk about motorcycles.
Anyway Bobby asked if I had seen anyone wearing bright Orange Jacket and a Green Helmet on a motorcycle that was smoking extremely bad?
I replied no, I have not seen anyone wearing them a bright orange jacket or green helmet I had no idea about any motorcycle that was smoking excessively!
He replied that that was good because he would’ve had to talk to him sternly about polluting, blocking other motors vision.
With my Orange Jacket over my shoulder and my Green Helmet hanging from my hand!
Bobby asked if that if the crackling from the heat of a hard ride motorcycle was the local police Sergeants motorcycle?
I Replied, yes it was and he started laughing his head off saying well that will go much better now after you’ve given a good hard ride!
As he only rode at extremely slow speeds at low rpm only!
I replied, I had never before passed anyone on a 250cc motorcycle going up a hill on my bicycle!
Bobby then said that his Sergeant would be too scared to ride at Home after blown out all the cobwebs and let the engine breathe properly again.
So the mole of the story is that you should let the engine breathe freely let it rev, use its RPM. The red line is Summit to stop at not to try to hide from. It does not matter that it’s a motor vehicle and not a motorcycle, though all the same internal combustion engines and all need to be let them to Rev freely for maximum fuel, efficiency and long-term engine life.
