Well I have found that having the CarPlay USB port in the centre of the lower dashboard and having my Co-Driver (Zippy my Dog) in the passenger seat the USB cable was not in a safe place and no where for my phone!
So I cut the two cable ties holding the USB to info unit /radio data cable and re-routed it to the right hand side of the steering wheel.
Removed the Japanese market push/stop starting button plug through to 28 mm hold through it, mounted the data USB socket that was originally in the centre through the plug and fitted to the right hand side, the steering wheel back into the spot.
Then having quad lock phone mount on the right hand side accessory moulding I can run a very short USB to iPhone cable for the CarPlay to connect.
I also made up a long aluminium M8 nut so that I can bolt the body moulding up tight, so the phone stops moving on rough roads.
